WWV: The Fringe Benefits of Failure, and the Importance of Imagination

Although this video did not come from Club Moreton Productions, it is most definitely worth watching if you've got 20 minutes and 58 seconds. A speech filled with Harry Potter references is Grade A in my book, and J.K. Rowling makes some interesting points that have left me thinking. Rowling failed at life. If she had succeeded at anything else she may not have gone on to write novels and then what would I have read for the past ten years? Rock bottom produced a solid foundation from which she rebuilt. And she doesn't value imagination for the stories it creates, but rather the empathy it enables. Check it out.

Thanks to Jake for sending this my way.

PS: I just realized that today is only Tuesday. Wrong day for "Wednesday's Weekly Video." Wow this week is screwy. Oh well.

  1. Steph I loved this. Thanks for posting it. Some of the London girls and I watched it together and felt edified and inspired to make another trip back to platform 9 3/4.
